Your Greek travel experience can now have an exceptional start via the Athens International Airport!
The Athens International Airport (AIA) was recognized as the “Best Airport in Europe” for 2014 in the 10 – 25 million passengers category at the 10th “Best Airport Awards”. The awards took place at the yearly conference of the Airports Council International in Frankfurt.
According to the judges’ evaluation, the AIA stood out from the competition for its performance and achievements in a highly challenging environment, globally and nationally, and for its exceptional business development plan, while maintaining its strong focus to service quality.
Fly to Athens and judge for yourselves!
Lonely Planet, the respected travel guides publisher, is predicting that Greece will be the top travel destination in Europe for 2014, as the country shows strong signs of bouncing back with another record year for tourists arrivals. Destinations in the ‘Best in Europe’ Top 10 list are chosen for being either ‘under-the-radar,’ generating buzz, or for being perennial favorites with reasons to visit in 2014 – we can confirm that Greece can offer numerous destinations that qualify for one or more of the above reasons.
Come and see for yourselves!
It is a globally celebrated spot, recognised as a beach “not to be missed” – yes, we are talking about the Navagio Beach in Zakynthos (or Zante), “a fine example of the classic Greek color palette of deep blue and white” as described in the latest issue of the Travel+Leisure magazine.
Now, everyone has the chance to enjoy the “fast lane” to the Navagio beach, without the need for a Gold credit card. However, you will definitely need some serious amounts of courage…take a look at the Navagio Beach “656-foot Fast Lane”!
We will always say so, but then you have every right to call us biased!
Thankfully, the Travel+Leisure magazine has come to our support – in their April 2014 issue, Greece features among their selection for “5 International Trips of a Lifetime“! We dedicate the featured image for this post to the following words that set the tone in the article – “…watch the sun set behind the Acropolis or one of the other ancient ruins that make Athens the cradle of Western civilization”. We would only add that it is worth taking the time to watch the full moon rise above the Acropolis!
